Android P is released, supporting the "notch" design.
Google has released the first preview of its new mobile operating system for developers.
Following Android O from 2017, Google has just launched Android P with many changes aimed at improving the user experience. With the new operating system, Google has "paved the way" for manufacturers to release Android phones with a "notch" - a playful name for the cutout on the screen similar to the iPhone X.

Google calls it a "display cutout," and the company not only supports custom menu settings but also moves the clock to the left (previously usually in the middle or on the right), creating space for the "notch."
Since mid-2017, the Essential phone model has had a notch on the display to house the camera. However, the "notch" really gained attention in the tech world after Apple unveiled the iPhone X. Since then, many Android manufacturers have launched or planned to release phones with "notch" displays.
In addition, Android P focuses on improving photo quality with support for dual cameras. Third-party applications can better utilize the advantages of two front or two rear cameras.
The final version of Android P is expected to be released by Google in Q3 2018. Meanwhile, the current version is limited to developers only.
