Announcement of the appointment of the abbot of Duc Hau Pagoda.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 25th, the Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Association held a grand ceremony to inaugurate the construction of Duc Hau Pagoda (Vinh City) and announced the decision to appoint the pagoda's abbot.
Attending the ceremony were Venerable Thich Thanh Dam - Vice Dharma Chief of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu - Standing Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province; representatives of leaders from departments, agencies, Vinh city, Hung Nguyen district and a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people in the province.

Duc Hau Pagoda, also known as Thien Linh Temple, is located in Duc Hau village, now comprising the three hamlets of Xuan Hoa, Xuan Dong, and Xuan Duc in Nghi Duc commune, Vinh City. Built in the 12th century, the pagoda served as a spiritual center for the local people. Over time and through historical changes, Duc Hau Pagoda has deteriorated and no longer meets the needs of Buddhist activities.
Recently, based on the proposal of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province, the People's Committee of Nghi Duc commune, the People's Committee of Vinh city, the Management Board of Historical Sites and Scenic Spots of Nghe An province, and the Religious Affairs Department - Department of Internal Affairs, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 1746/QD-UBND approving the restoration of Duc Hau Pagoda in Nghi Duc commune; requiring Duc Hau Pagoda to properly carry out Buddhist activities in accordance with the law and the Charter of the Vietnam Buddhist Association...

During the ceremony, representatives from the Religious Affairs Department of Nghe An province announced the decision to approve the restoration of the Buddhist facility. Representatives from the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Nghe An province also announced the decision of the Nghe An Provincial Buddhist Association to officially appoint Venerable Thich Dinh Tue, currently the abbot of Phuc Thanh Pagoda in Hung Chau commune, Hung Nguyen district, as the abbot of Duc Hau Pagoda in Nghi Duc commune, Vinh city.

Also at the ceremony, the Buddhist Association of Nghe An province and the attending delegates performed a spiritual groundbreaking ceremony to commence the construction of Duc Hau Pagoda.
