Laughing out loud at my 5-year-old daughter's essay about "hating the whole family."

In her homework, the little girl wrote that she hated her father, mother, older sister, and even her pet dog because they were all so annoying.

While Natalie Fowler, 33, was at the playground, her daughter Isla's teacher approached her and asked if she had read Isla's homework. Upon returning home, the mother of two, who lives in Sheffield, South Yorkshire (England), immediately checked Isla's essay.

She was shocked because her 5-year-old daughter wrote that she hated her father, mother, older sister, and even their pet dog because they annoyed her.

The homework assignment included a drawing of Isla's parents, older sister, and pet dog.

Natalie asked her daughter about what she had written in her homework, but Isla didn't answer; she just smiled, which made her mother smile too. Then Natalie pressed her, "Do you really feel 'hate' towards everyone?"

It was then that Isla confessed: to complete her homework assignment rhyming with the "oy" sound, she had to use the word "annoying." This negative word wasn't what Isla wanted to say about her family, but it was the only "oy" word she knew how to spell.

Isla's family.

Natalie returned to Isla's school the following day to explain to the teacher about her daughter's funny assignment.

"When I went back to Isla's school the next day and shared the reason, her teacher and I laughed a lot. The truth was completely different from what Isla wrote in her essay. This was definitely her funniest assignment," Natalie shared.

Natalie told this story to her friends and family, who laughed but weren't surprised because Isla was a funny little girl. Below the 5-year-old's assignment, the teacher wrote: "I hope this isn't accurate."

Isla is described as a funny and cheerful little girl.
