Results of the draw for the group stage of the AFF Cup 2018:
Group A: Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Vietnam.
Group B: Singapore, East Timor/Brunei, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand.
Group A, where the Vietnamese national team is located, is considered relatively easier compared to Group B. However, if Vietnam advances from the group stage, they will face significant difficulties as their opponent in the semi-finals could very well be Indonesia or Thailand.
The 2018 AFF Cup will take place from November 8th to December 15th, featuring 10 teams divided into two groups. From the semi-finals onwards, teams will play two-legged matches. East Timor and Brunei will play two-legged play-off matches on September 3rd and September 11th, respectively.
The prize money for the top-ranked teams is $200,000 for the champion, $75,000 for the runner-up, and $50,000 each for the two third-place teams.

Betting on matches involving the Vietnamese national team is prohibited.
Concerns about potential negative consequences have led to the exclusion of all matches involving the Vietnamese national team from the list of legally permitted betting matches. The General Department of Sports and Physical Training's stance is strongly supported by experts.
