Nghe An: Only 16.4% of businesses build brands

(Baonghean) - Building a good brand will bring high competitiveness, create prestige and added value for the business. However, due to many reasons, most businesses in Nghe An are still weak in building strong brands.

According to a survey by the Department of Industry and Trade, the number of businesses in Nghe An that are currently operating and registering for industrial property protection is still too small. Most businesses do not have an investment strategy for this issue, so the products of Nghe An businesses "lose" right at home, not to mention competing for export.

Statistics show that the province currently has 811 protected objects with 636 trademarks, 53 designs, 7 utility solutions and 10 inventions. However, the registration of industrial property rights is still too little compared to the province's economic activities; the rate of applications for industrial property rights protection certificates in Nghe An compared to the whole country is still very low, only 0.46%.

Recently, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Nghe An organized a survey on the needs of businesses in the area regarding the issue of registering for industrial property protection. The results showed that only 16.4% of businesses have registered trademarks, 4.9% of businesses said they are researching, 50.4% of businesses have not registered products or services, 11.7% of businesses responded that they have no need, are not interested and have no intention of registering...
