This is a noteworthy new point in the Project to innovate the national high school exam and university and college admissions that has just been withdrawn by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) for further improvement.

According to the Project, in the 2017-2018 school year, we will continue to build a standardized test question bank, improve the differentiation of test questions according to the current general education program and gradually orient the content according to the roadmap for implementing the new general education program.

Regarding the exams and subjects, in 2018, 2019 and 2020, they will remain stable as in 2017. From 2021 onwards, the exams and subjects will be designed in accordance with the roadmap for implementing the new general education program; if conditions permit, candidates can take the exam on computers.

The Ministry of Education and Training said that in order to implement the orientation of computer-based exams from 2021, it is necessary to prepare conditions for technical infrastructure, software equipment to manage computer-based exam question banks, and software to manage and organize exams.

It is expected that 25 satellite centers of the ministry will be built in many different areas across the country to organize computer-based testing to help candidates in the provinces reduce travel costs, ensuring safety and efficiency. At the same time, the test bank will continue to be supplemented and improved.

The test is designed to assess the learner's ability, gradually increasing the number of application-level questions and open-ended questions that require candidates to apply their knowledge, comprehensive and interdisciplinary skills, life experience, and social understanding to answer. The test does not place too much emphasis on mechanical memorization of data, events, or answering according to a pre-existing template...

In fact, organizing the national high school exam on computers has been a matter of concern since the Ministry of Education and Training converted most of the exam subjects from essay to multiple choice and built a question bank in the direction of assessing capacity.

However, due to the large number of candidates taking the high school exam, to do this, there needs to be enough time to prepare facilities, machinery, technical infrastructure and exam question banks.
