Winter melon tea to cool down on hot days

This is a very healthy drink, delicious and easy to make. Enjoying a cool glass of winter melon tea on a summer day is great.

Ingredient:

- 10 gr Rehmannia glutinosa (buy at Chinese medicine stores or dry goods stores)

- 1 kg old squash (if young, remove seeds)

- 5 pandan leaves

- Salt 1/3 teaspoon

- 4 liters of water

- Rock sugar 150 gr

Making:

Wash squash, cut into small pieces. Wash pandan leaves, tie neatly.


Put rehmannia glutinosa, winter melon, salt in a pot, add water and cook until the squash is tender. After 2 hours, add pandan leaves, cook for another 5 minutes and turn off the heat.

Wait for the water to cool, then filter it, add rock sugar and stir well. Then store in the refrigerator. When drinking, just add ice and enjoy.

This is the traditional way of cooking. You can add sugar cane or monk fruit to cook together, it is also very delicious.
