On the morning of June 15th, at the National Assembly building, the 5th session of the 14th National Assembly concluded after 21 days of work conducted in a democratic, serious, and responsible manner.
The 14th National Assembly has completed its session's agenda with many important contents:
The National Assembly discussed and reviewed the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget for 2017, as well as the situation regarding the implementation of the plan in the first months of 2018.
The National Assembly also discussed and voted to approve: the Resolution approving the State budget settlement for 2016; 7 draft laws to further institutionalize the 2013 Constitution; the Resolution on the Law and Ordinance Drafting Program for 2019; the Resolution on the National Assembly's Supervision Program for 2019; the Resolution establishing the National Assembly's Supreme Supervision Delegation on "The implementation of policies and laws on planning, management, and use of land in urban areas from the effective date of the 2013 Land Law to the end of 2018" and "The implementation of policies and laws on fire prevention and fighting in the period 2014-2018"; the Resolution on continuing to improve and promote the implementation of policies and laws on the management and use of State capital and assets in enterprises and the equitization of State-owned enterprises; and the Resolution on questioning activities at the 5th session of the 14th National Assembly. The National Assembly has issued a Resolution on interpellation and answers to interpellation, serving as a basis for the National Assembly's oversight and as a basis for the Government, ministries, and agencies to organize implementation; and adjusting the 2018 legislative and ordinance drafting program.
The National Assembly has decided to postpone the adoption of the Special Administrative and Economic Unit Law Project from the 5th session to a later session to allow more time for research, refinement, and ensuring the quality and feasibility of the Law Project.
At this session, the National Assembly conducted questioning on four groups of issues with the Ministers of the Ministries of Transport, Natural Resources and Environment, Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and Education and Training.
The Deputy Prime Ministers and other Ministers and heads of departments participated in reporting and providing further clarification on issues related to the questions raised.
The topics selected for questioning are highly relevant, focusing on socio-economic issues of concern to voters and members of parliament.
Following the session, the Speaker of the National Assembly requested that National Assembly deputies organize effective activities to engage with constituents, listen to their concerns and aspirations; research, understand, and grasp the realities of social life in order to promptly reflect and make recommendations to the National Assembly, the Government, and relevant agencies; and be more proactive and assertive in legislative and supervisory work.

On June 15th, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued a document announcing the handling of violations in the appointment of officials at the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province.
Accordingly, after receiving complaints about the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development appointing a series of officials in violation of regulations, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued a document directing the Department of Internal Affairs to investigate and verify the matter.
Mr. Le Nhu Tuan, former Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa province, has retired effective June 1st. Before his retirement, Mr. Tuan signed decisions appointing many heads of departments and sub-departments within the Department, and transferred officials in violation of the regulations of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
To address and rectify the aforementioned violations, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province requested the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to conduct a review and clarify the responsibilities of the collective and individuals involved in proposing, advising, and deciding on personnel appointments. The Department's leadership must revoke and annul the appointments made in violation of regulations.

To ensure the safety and integrity of this year's national high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training has directed provincial Departments of Education and Training to deploy more than 4,000 inspectors stationed at all national high school graduation exam locations nationwide, totaling over 2,000 locations.
A new feature in the inspection of the 2018 National High School Graduation Examination is that each examination board has two inspectors seconded by the Director of the Department of Education and Training (one from the locality and one from a collaborating university).
In addition to stationed inspectors, the Department of Education and Training has established mobile inspection teams. In difficult areas or wherever problems arise, mobile inspectors are ready to assist stationed inspectors.
At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Training stipulated that each Department of Education and Training must establish hotlines to receive feedback on the exam in order to handle issues promptly.

On the morning of June 16th, at the VNVC Expanded Immunization Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with Sanofi Pasteur Co., Ltd., held a launch ceremony for the new generation Hexaxim 6-in-1 vaccine, officially becoming the first provider of this vaccine in Vietnam.
Henxaxim 6-in-1 vaccine is a pre-filled suspension that reduces preparation time by 50% and is used to prevent six diseases: diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, invasive diseases caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), and polio.
In the context of the evolving and complex pandemic situation, the introduction of the Henxaxim 6-in-1 vaccine is a welcome sign, helping to alleviate the shortage of 6-in-1 vaccines on the market and giving children more opportunities to receive the full dose according to the correct schedule, resulting in high immunity efficacy.

On June 15th, Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company signed a credit agreement to implement the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway project. Mr. Duong Quang Chau, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, stated that the total investment capital for the project is 9,600 billion VND, of which the investor's own capital accounts for 30% (2,800 billion VND), and the remaining over 6,800 billion VND is borrowed capital.
"The project is being urgently implemented along the entire route, with over 1,700 billion VND already disbursed for land clearance and construction, striving for completion by the end of 2020," Mr. Chau said.
The Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway section is 51 km long, passing through 5 districts of Tien Giang province: Chau Thanh, Tan Phuoc, Cai Lay, Cai Be, and Cai Lay town. The project starts at the Than Cuu Nghia intersection (connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway) and ends at the intersection with National Highway 30.
Opening of Vietnam's first wool spinning factory.
On June 15th, the first wool spinning factory in Vietnam commenced construction at the Phat Chi industrial cluster, Tram Hanh commune, Da Lat city. This is a joint venture project between the Sudwolle Group of the Federal Republic of Germany and Lien Phuong Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company - the largest producer of combed wool fabric in Vietnam.
The factory will begin operations in 2019, with projected annual revenue exceeding $100 million. Wool yarn is one of the most valuable types of yarn used in textiles, made from natural sheep's wool.
