On the morning of June 15, at the National Assembly House, the 5th session of the 14th National Assembly closed after 21 days of working in a democratic, serious and responsible spirit.
The 14th National Assembly has completed the working program of the session with many important contents:
The National Assembly discussed and made additional assessments of the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget in 2017 and the implementation of the plan in the first months of 2018.
The National Assembly also discussed and voted to pass: Resolution approving the 2016 State budget settlement; 7 draft laws to continue institutionalizing the 2013 Constitution; Resolution on the 2019 Law and Ordinance Building Program; Resolution on the 2019 National Assembly Supervision Program; Resolution on the establishment of the National Assembly's supreme supervision delegation on "Implementation of policies and laws on urban planning, management and land use from the effective date of the 2013 Land Law to the end of 2018" and "Implementation of policies and laws on fire prevention and fighting in the 2014-2018 period"; Resolution on continuing to improve and promote the implementation of policies and laws on management and use of State capital and assets in enterprises and equitization of State-owned enterprises; Resolution on questioning activities at the 5th session of the 14th National Assembly; Resolution of the 5th Session, 14th National Assembly.
The National Assembly has issued a Resolution on questions and answers, serving as a basis for the National Assembly to supervise and as a basis for the Government, ministries and branches to organize implementation and adjust the 2018 Law and Ordinance Building Program.
The National Assembly has decided to adjust the time for passing the Law on Special Administrative-Economic Units from the 5th session to the next session to have more time to research, complete, and ensure the quality and feasibility of the Law project.
At this session, the National Assembly questioned the Ministers of the following Ministries: Transport, Natural Resources and Environment, Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and Education and Training on four groups of issues.
Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and heads of other sectors participated in reporting and further explaining issues related to the content of the questioning.
The groups of questions selected are close to reality, and are socio-economic issues of interest to voters and National Assembly deputies.
After the session, the National Assembly Chairman requested that National Assembly deputies organize well the activities of meeting voters, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people; research, learn, and grasp the reality of social life to promptly reflect and make recommendations to the National Assembly, the Government and relevant agencies, and be more active and proactive in legislative and supervisory work.
Thanh Hoa abolishes wrong appointment decisions of directors before retirement

On June 15, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued a document announcing the handling of violations in appointing officials at the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) of this province.
Accordingly, after receiving feedback on the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development appointing a series of officials in violation of regulations, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued a document directing the Department of Home Affairs to inspect and verify.
Mr. Le Nhu Tuan, former Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa, has just decided to retire from June 1. Before retiring, Mr. Tuan signed decisions to appoint many department-level leaders and branch leaders of the Department, transferring cadres not in accordance with the regulations of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
To handle and remedy the above violations, the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize a review and clarify the collective and individual responsibilities involved in proposing, advising, and deciding on personnel appointments. The Department's leaders must revoke and cancel the appointment decisions that violate regulations.

To ensure the safety and seriousness of this year's national high school exam, the Ministry of Education and Training has directed the Departments of Education and Training to arrange more than 4,000 inspectors to be stationed at all national high school exam sites across the country, with a total of more than 2,000 exam sites.
A new point in the inspection of the 2018 National High School Exam is that each Examination Council has 2 inspectors mobilized by the Director of the Department of Education and Training (including 1 from the locality and 1 from the coordinating university).
In addition to stationed inspectors, the Department of Education and Training has established mobile inspection teams. In difficult areas or where problems arise, mobile inspectors are ready to assist stationed inspectors.
At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that each Department of Education and Training must establish hotlines to receive feedback on exams for timely handling.

BOT Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway is loaned over 6,800 billion VND

On June 15, Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT Joint Stock Company signed a credit contract to implement the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway. Mr. Duong Quang Chau - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company said that the total investment capital of the project is 9,600 billion VND, of which the investor's own capital accounts for 30% with 2,800 billion VND, the remaining more than 6,800 billion VND is borrowed capital.
"The project is being urgently implemented along the entire route, with more than VND1,700 billion disbursed for site clearance and construction, striving to be completed by the end of 2020," said Mr. Chau.
The Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway is 51 km long, passing through 5 districts of Tien Giang province including Chau Thanh, Tan Phuoc, Cai Lay, Cai Be and Cai Lay Town. The starting point of the project is at Than Cuu Nghia intersection (connecting with Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway), the end point is at the intersection with National Highway 30.
Opening of the first wool spinning factory in Vietnam
On June 15, the first wool spinning factory in Vietnam was started at Phat Chi industrial cluster, Tram Hanh commune, Da Lat city. This is a joint venture project between the Sũdwolle Group of the Federal Republic of Germany and Lien Phuong Textile Joint Stock Company - the largest combed wool fabric manufacturer in Vietnam.
The factory will be operational in 2019, with an expected turnover of over 100 million USD/year. Wool is one of the most valuable types of yarn for weaving, made from natural sheep wool.
