Russia reveals the power of the "destroyer" Terminator-3

Sputnik quoted Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko as saying that the BMPT Terminator-3 tank support combat vehicle (nicknamed the terminator) is a unique product with no similar products in the world.

"This is an innovative design that has undergone modernization several times. The appearance of such a vehicle shows that the Uralvagonzavod company understands the trends and changes in the format of warfare in the 21st century and designs its products according to the modern needs of warfare," said Igor Korotchenko.

According to him, the fact is that the formation of Terminator-3 had the role of the Syrian campaign, in which previous versions participated in real combat.

BMPT Terminator-3 is more formidable than the previous generation.

In addition, Terminator-3 also has increased gun size, equipped with modern communication means and combat automation. That means the vehicle is capable of operating independently or in groups, supporting tanks in combat in all conditions: on the ground, and in urban environments.

Therefore, BMPT has very good prospects, including in foreign markets - in terms of exporting Terminarora-3 to foreign customers," the military expert said.

In addition, Sergey Abramov - director of the arms department of Rostec Corporation, the owner of the Uralvagonzavod company, said that the company created a new image of the third generation of the "Terminator" tank support vehicle, which can destroy any types of targets.

"Based on the combat experience of the Terminator, we are now thinking about a modified version of this vehicle, working on improving its tactical and technical characteristics and modernizing its chassis. The new product can deal with all types of targets: air, ground, troops or enemy vehicles...", Mr. Abramov said.

According to the owner of the Uralvagonzavod company, the current versions of the Terminator are beginning to be equipped, very successfully, but in the future it can be further improved.

BMPT Terminator-2 has been sent to Syria for testing.

According to information from the media of the company Uralvagonzavod, the contract to supply "Terminator" to the Russian Ministry of Defense will be completed in early 2019.

If Russia is equipped with Terminator-3, the Russian army will be significantly stronger, because its predecessor Terminator-2 has shown its strength on the Syrian battlefield.

Terminator-2 weighs 44 tons, is equipped with explosive reactive armor with a defense capability higher than that of the T-90A tank fighting in Syria, and is capable of protecting the vehicle against more modern anti-tank guided missiles than the TOW-2A anti-tank missile. Engine power is 1000 to 1130 horsepower, can run at speeds up to 70 km/h. Range is 700 km.

BMPT is equipped with a fire control system with a thermal imaging channel and an automatic target surveillance system, allowing it to effectively fight terrorists hiding in buildings, bunkers, underground tunnels, and moving on foot.

According to general assessment, a Terminator vehicle can fight similarly to an infantry platoon or 3 BMP vehicles, moreover, the vehicle's firepower can also destroy drones.

To enhance combat effectiveness against long-range targets, such as anti-tank guns using TOW or Javelin missiles, the vehicle is equipped with a wired drone. This information is of particular interest in 2016 because the vehicle is capable of attacking targets from a very long distance and not necessarily within the target's line of sight.
