People in a mountainous commune voluntarily donated land, not receiving compensation of more than 1 billion VND.
(Baonghean.vn) - More than 240 households in Mau Duc commune, Con Cuong district donated land and assets attached to the land worth more than 1 billion VND to construct the Mau Duc - Thach Ngan road section passing through the commune.

This route passes through Thong Nhat village, Na Duoi village, Ke Noc village, Ke Sung village, Ke Trang village, and Ke Me village with 243 affected households.
In November 2011, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the road from Mau Duc commune to Thach Ngan commune with a total investment of more than 52.6 billion VND. The length of the road is more than 10km, the structure of a grade VI mountain road; the construction time is 24 months.
However, from 2011 to 2017, only 15 billion VND was allocated; mainly on the route and 2 km has been constructed in Thach Ngan commune. The provincial budget and the district People's Committee have not yet balanced the resources to carry out compensation, site clearance and resettlement.
By 2017, the Party Committee and government of Mau Duc commune advised Con Cuong district to collect people's opinions on site clearance for the Mau Duc road to Thach Ngan commune with the motto of the State and people working together; associated with the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction.
On that basis, the commune has mobilized people to donate land, trees and assets attached to land, and solid construction works on the Mau Duc - Thach Ngan road through Mau Duc commune.
Mr. Lang Van Sy - Standing Deputy Secretary of Mau Duc Commune Party Committee said: Although the compensation price and support for site clearance had been applied before, after the mobilization, all affected households agreed to support the project. The total area of land donated by the people is 23,265 m2.2; 1,368 trees of all kinds; 142 m2 corrugated iron roof and more than 1,361m2 fences of all kinds... with a total value of more than 1 billion VND. In 2017, the Commune People's Committee and the people handed over the site to the District People's Committee and the investor.
