Practical activities to help the poor in Tan Ky

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 3, in Tan Ky district, there were activities to distribute free porridge to poor patients; help people in Phu Son commune with production, build roads and give support to families affected by fire in Huong Son commune.

At the District Health Center, 150 bowls of porridge were delivered to poor patients. To provide nutritious bowls of porridge for patients, the members personally selected fresh, nutritious foods to prepare for patients. In addition, the Tan Ky District Red Cross also supported the program with 20kg of rice.

The program “Bowl of love porridge” is held regularly every Tuesday. The Standing Committee of Tan Ky District Youth Union has directed and assigned each grassroots youth organization to coordinate and take turns implementing the program to demonstrate the community’s love and responsibility towards the sick people in difficult and unfortunate circumstances, helping them have more motivation to overcome their illness.

The Youth Union of Phu Son Commune, Tan Ky District, in collaboration with the Volunteer Student Team of Vinh University, organized practical activities to help the people. From June 29 to July 3, 30 Youth Union members in the commune and 20 volunteer students participated in peeling and husking more than 1 ton of corn and pouring concrete on nearly 2km of rural roads (3-4m wide).

Along with that, we also organized folk games, opened training classes and propagated drowning prevention for children; helped people weed sugarcane and gave more than 11 gifts to poor students and policy families in Phu Son commune.

On the same day, Mr. Le Van Toan - Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Ky district visited, encouraged and supported the family of Mr. Trinh Xuan Hung in Huong Son commune whose house was completely burned down by fire.

Previously, at 4:30 p.m. on May 24, while the whole family was working in the fields, the house and all the property in the house of Mr. Trinh Xuan Hung (born in 1982) and Ms. Chu Thi Huong Sen (born in 1983) in Xuan Huong hamlet, Huong Son commune (Tan Ky) were completely burned down. The family's circumstances were extremely difficult, they were considered poor households.

On this occasion, representatives of the District Fatherland Front Committee visited, encouraged and presented 10 million VND in support to the family. After the fire broke out, the authorities, departments and organizations at all levels, and many benefactors joined hands to help the family overcome the fire with more than 50 million VND.
