Practical activities to help the poor in Tan Ky

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 3rd, Tan Ky district carried out activities such as distributing free porridge to poor patients; assisting people in Phu Son commune with production, building roads, and providing support to families affected by fire in Huong Son commune.

At the district health center, 150 bowls of porridge were delivered directly to impoverished patients. To ensure the patients received nutritious porridge, the volunteers personally selected fresh, high-quality ingredients and prepared the porridge to suit their needs. In addition, the Tan Ky District Red Cross Society also contributed 20kg of rice to the program.

The "Bowl of Compassion" program is held regularly every Tuesday. The Standing Committee of the Tan Ky District Youth Union has directed and assigned each grassroots youth union organization to coordinate and take turns implementing the program to demonstrate the compassion and responsibility of the community towards sick people in difficult and unfortunate circumstances, helping them to have more motivation to overcome their illnesses.

The youth of Phu Son commune, Tan Ky district, in coordination with the volunteer student team from Vinh University, organized practical activities to help the local people. From June 29th to July 3rd, 30 youth union members from the commune, along with 20 volunteer students, participated in shelling and separating over 1 ton of corn kernels and pouring concrete for nearly 2km of rural roads (3-4m wide).

In addition, they organized folk games, held training courses and conducted awareness campaigns on drowning prevention for children and teenagers; helped the people weed sugarcane fields; and donated more than 11 gifts to poor students and families entitled to preferential policies in Phu Son commune.

On the same day, Mr. Le Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Ky district, visited, encouraged, and provided support to the family of Mr. Trinh Xuan Hung in Huong Son commune, whose house was completely destroyed by fire.

Earlier, at 4:30 PM on May 24th, while the whole family was working in the fields, the house and all the belongings inside belonging to Mr. Trinh Xuan Hung (born in 1982) and Ms. Chu Thi Huong Sen (born in 1983) in Xuan Huong hamlet, Huong Son commune (Tan Ky district) were completely destroyed by fire. The family is in extremely difficult circumstances and is classified as a poor household.

On this occasion, representatives from the District Fatherland Front Committee visited, offered encouragement, and presented the family with 10 million VND in financial assistance. Following the fire, the Party Committee, government, various departments and organizations at all levels, along with many philanthropists, joined hands to help the family overcome the difficulties caused by the fire with a total amount exceeding 50 million VND.
