Many people experience dry, sore throats after shouting and cheering at football matches. Some have hoarse voices, or even can't speak at all.

According to Dr. Hoang Hong Van from the Ear, Nose, and Throat Department of Viet Duc Hospital, shouting or using one's voice excessively and intensely for extended periods can overstimulate the vocal cords. Damage to the vocal cords leads to a dry, sore throat, causing pain, hoarseness, and even complete loss of voice. This condition is a major obstacle in professional communication and should not be taken lightly.

Ways to relieve a sore throat:

Salted lemon tea:Take a cup of hot tea, add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and stir well. Sip this mixture, hold it in your mouth for about 10 seconds, then spit it out. Rinse your mouth several times a day, even every hour. The salt draws water out of the cell membranes, effectively reducing swelling and inflammation, and providing temporary relief from a sore throat.

Honey and fresh lemon:Honey has a sweet and sour taste, a warming nature, and helps to loosen phlegm, relieve gas, and treat coughs and respiratory illnesses. Make slits in the peel of a lemon, place it in a small bowl, and add a few spoonfuls of honey to completely soak the lemon. Let it sit for 1-2 hours, then cut and suck on it. Alternatively, you can steam the honey in a double boiler for about 10 minutes before sucking and eating it.

Lemon, ginger, and salt:Prepare ginger water, then add lemon and salt to the prepared water. This is a very simple combination, but it can soothe sore throats and alleviate hoarseness.

Drink fresh bean sprout juice:Bean sprouts have a sweet and refreshing taste and are effective in clearing heat and detoxifying, fighting inflammation, lowering blood pressure, and promoting urination. Therefore, they are also used as a remedy for sore throat, hoarseness, pharyngitis, constipation, urinary retention, edema, and high blood pressure.

Instructions: Wash fresh bean sprouts thoroughly and extract the juice. It's best to drink fresh bean sprout juice because the enzymes in the sprouts are more beneficial than the juice from blanched bean sprouts. It can be used as a substitute for plain water.
