Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, said that the Ministry has not received official information from the People's Security Academy about the desire to review and compare the original exam papers of high-scoring candidates.

“If the People’s Security Academy wants to review, the Department of Schools under the Ministry of Public Security will send a document to the Ministry of Education and Training. However, the Ministry of Education and Training has not received any such document. In response to information from the media, the Ministry has contacted the People’s Security Academy, and the Academy said it has not yet made any proposal regarding the review request,” said Mr. Tuan.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 5, the People's Security Academy announced the admission scores as well as the list of candidates admitted to the school.

Accordingly, the total number of successful candidates is 220. Of which, the number of successful candidates from the northern mountainous provinces including Lang Son, Hoa Binh, Son La, Cao Bang, Bac Kan is 71, accounting for over 32% of the total number of candidates admitted to the school.

Specifically, Lang Son is the province with the highest number of candidates passing the school entrance exam with 23 students, accounting for 10.5% of the total number of successful candidates. Hoa Binh and Cao Bang provinces each have 14 students, accounting for 6.4%. The other two mountainous provinces, Son La and Bac Kan, each have 10 candidates, accounting for 4.5%.

Among them, many candidates in Hoa Binh and Son La achieved very high scores. Hoa Binh had three candidates in group C03 achieving over 28 points. Lang Son had two candidates achieving over 30 points.

In 2017, Ha Giang province had 8 candidates passing the school entrance exam, but this year there are no candidates.

In response to public concerns about exam cheating in Hoa Binh and Son La provinces, which have yet to determine the original test scores, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan said that to ensure the rights of candidates, the Ministry of Education and Training will still recognize the current test scores. Candidates can use these test scores to apply to universities.

“In case a candidate is found to have cheated on his/her exam scores, he/she will be disciplined according to the regulations of the Exam Regulations, in the worst case, he/she will be forced to leave school, even if he/she has been admitted and enrolled at the university,” said Mr. Tuan./.
