The review of high-scoring candidates for police majors in Lang Son and Hoa Binh provinces has not yet been completed.
"The Ministry of Education and Training has contacted the People's Security Academy, and the Academy stated that it has not yet made any proposal to request a review," said Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education.

“If the People's Security Academy wants a review, the Department of Schools under the Ministry of Public Security will send a document to the Ministry of Education and Training. However, the Ministry of Education and Training has not yet received any such document. Following media reports, the Ministry contacted the People's Security Academy, and the Academy stated that it has not yet made any proposal to request a review,” Mr. Tuan said.
Earlier, on the afternoon of August 5th, the People's Security Academy announced the cutoff scores and the list of candidates admitted to the school.
Accordingly, the total number of admitted students is 220. Of these, 71 students, accounting for over 32% of the total number of students admitted to the school, are from the northern mountainous provinces of Lang Son, Hoa Binh, Son La, Cao Bang, and Bac Kan.
Specifically, Lang Son province had the highest number of students admitted to the school with 23, accounting for 10.5% of the total number of successful candidates. Hoa Binh and Cao Bang provinces each had 14 students, accounting for 6.4%. The other two mountainous provinces, Son La and Bac Kan, each had 10 students, accounting for 4.5%.
Among them, many candidates from Hoa Binh and Son La achieved very high scores. Hoa Binh had three candidates in the C03 group who scored over 28 points. Lang Son had two candidates who scored over 30 points.
In 2017, Ha Giang province had 8 candidates admitted to the school, but this year there are none.
In response to public concerns about exam fraud in Hoa Binh and Son La provinces, where the original exam scores remain undetermined, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan stated that, to protect the rights of candidates, the Ministry of Education and Training will, for the time being, recognize the current exam scores. Candidates can use these scores to apply for admission to universities.
"In the event that a candidate is found to have cheated on the exam, the candidate will be disciplined according to the regulations of the Examination Regulations, with the highest penalty being expulsion, even if they have already been admitted and enrolled at the university," Mr. Tuan said.
