A joint statement on the results of talks with US President Donald Trump's National Security Adviser John Bolton was not signed due to Washington's stance, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.

"After the meeting, we planned to sign a joint statement, but it was not possible because the Americans wanted to include in it a clause demanding that we not interfere in the elections, which, in their opinion, we reject," said Mr. Patrushev.
According to him, in response, Russia proposed to include in the document a clause stating that the US should not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.“At that time, they said they would not sign such a statement,” Mr. Patrushev said.
At the same time, he stressed that during the meeting there was no criticism of Russia, the exchange was constructive.
