Closing Ceremony of the 4th Nghe Tinh Folk Song Festival 2018
(Baonghean.vn) - After three days of competition, on the evening of August 28th, at the Ha Tinh Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center, the Organizing Committee of the 4th Nghe Tinh Folk Song Festival 2018 held a closing ceremony and awarded prizes.
Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Le Minh Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province; Mr. Le Dinh Son - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Ha Tinh; Mr. Dang Quoc Vinh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province, and representatives from departments and agencies of the two provinces.

The closing night featured seven outstanding performances representing the melodies and styles selected from the 73 entries submitted by 24 folk singing clubs from Nghe Tinh participating in the festival.
At the closing ceremony, People's Artist Pham Tien Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An province - Head of the judging panel, affirmed that this was a successful festival. The clubs closely followed the regulations and rules to build reasonable programs, ensuring content, duration, genre, and form of expression. Many performances were elaborately staged, creative, and of high artistic value.

It is noteworthy that, in addition to established artisans, this festival also featured several talented young faces, some young singers with sweet voices performing folk songs and skillfully reciting the melodies of the Ví and Giặm folk songs.
In particular, the 4th Nghe Tinh Folk Song Festival showcased many new talents in lyric writing and performance; outstanding artisans effectively fulfilled their responsibilities in preserving and promoting the value of the heritage. As a result, the festival avoided duplication of performances between different teams.

However, the festival still has some areas that need improvement, such as: selecting performances that are not age-appropriate for the actors; overusing offensive comedic elements; some performances having costume errors; and some works lacking logical lyrics...

At the conclusion of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded A prizes to 15 performances, B prizes to 15 performances, and C prizes to 15 performances. The two outstanding clubs that won first prize were the Nghi Long commune club - Nghi Loc district (Nghe An province) and the Ky Loi commune club - Ky Anh town (Ha Tinh province).
The four clubs that won second prize are: Dong Thanh, Thanh Van (Nghe An), Son Hoa, and Duc Giang (Ha Tinh).
Six clubs won third prize: Ngoc Son, Nghia Dong, Tan Ky (Nghe An), Nam Hong, Tien Dien, Thach Tan, Thach Bang (Ha Tinh). Twelve clubs received consolation prizes.
In addition, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to two outstanding young performers: Nguyen Khanh Ha - Cam Nhuong Commune Club (Cam Xuyen - Ha Tinh) and Pham Nguyen Mai Uyen - Quang Phong Ward Club (Thai Hoa town - Nghe An).
