According to information from the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district as of the afternoon of August 31st, floods have forced 230 households in Tuong Duong district to evacuate urgently, including 7 households whose houses were completely swept away; Ban Ve Bridge, 4 school buildings and 1 commune People's Committee headquarters were deeply submerged. Eight communes, namely Yen Na, Luong Minh, Xa Luong, Hoa Binh, Thach Giam, Tam Thai, Tam Dinh and Tam Quang, were flooded, with all 8 villages of Luong Minh commune and 2 villages of Yen Na commune completely isolated; initial estimated damage is approximately 25 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuong Duong District, said: The district has focused on directing communes to implement flood control according to the "four on-the-spot" plan, mobilizing police and military forces to assist people and authorities in the 8 flooded communes in relocating people and property, basically ensuring the safety of people and property. By the afternoon of August 31, food and essential supplies had been basically reached and provided to isolated areas in the district, with the aim of preventing people from going hungry or falling ill due to the floods.

Currently, in addition to reinforcing security forces to guard flooded areas 24/7 to prevent people and vehicles from passing through, Tuong Duong district is also deploying police, military, and other organizations to Luong Minh commune to help households relocate and repair their homes.
