According to information from the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district as of the afternoon of August 31, the flood had forced 230 households in Tuong Duong district to evacuate urgently, of which 7 households had their houses completely washed away; Ban Ve Bridge, 4 schools and 1 commune People's Committee headquarters were deeply flooded. There were 8 communes: Yen Na, Luong Minh, Xa Luong, Hoa Binh, Thach Giam, Tam Thai, Tam Dinh and Tam Quang flooded, of which 8/8 villages of Luong Minh commune and 2 villages of Yen Na commune were completely isolated; the initial damage was estimated at about 25 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Chairman of Tuong Duong District People's Committee said: The district has focused on directing communes to implement flood prevention according to Plan 4 on the spot, mobilizing police and military forces to assist people and authorities of 8 flooded communes to evacuate people and property, basically ensuring safety of people and property. By the afternoon of August 31, basically reaching and providing food and necessities to isolated areas in the area, the policy is not to let people go hungry or get sick due to floods.

Currently, in addition to increasing the number of guards on duty 24/7 at flooded areas to prevent people and vehicles from passing through, Tuong Duong district also sent police, army and organizations to Luong Minh commune to help households evacuate and repair their houses./.
