Tax debt in Nghe An increased by 135 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An's tax debt (collectible) is 702,880 million VND (as of August 31, 2018), an increase of 135 billion VND compared to the same period.
Some enterprises with large debts: 482 Joint Stock Company owes 21,973 billion VND, Vietnam-Laos Economic Cooperation and Investment Corporation Limited owes 19.6 billion VND; Nghe An Bridge and Road Construction Joint Stock Company: 19.6 billion VND; 24 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company owes 19.2 billion VND...
Mr. Vuong Dinh Chinh - Head of Propaganda and Taxpayer Support Department, Nghe An Tax Department said: The reason for the increase in debt is that a number of taxpayers have not complied well with the provisions of the tax law, are slow to pay taxes on time, have long-term tax debts, and the tax authority imposes penalties and calculates late payment fees, leading to an increase in late payment fees.

Some loss-making businesses have dissolved themselves, left their production and business locations, still owe taxes, and have not completed the procedures to re-declare to the tax authorities.
Many tax debts cannot be collected but also cannot be cleared because the policy does not have regulations for handling these cases.

The amount of late payment accounts for a large proportion that cannot be collected because taxpayers only pay the principal debt and are not aware of paying the late payment. Meanwhile, measures to enforce the seizure of assets, auction seized assets, and collect money and assets of the subject of enforcement held by other organizations and individuals face many difficulties.
