Robbed of nearly 7 million dong while counting in the middle of the street
Seeing a woman standing counting money on the street, two men approached and robbed her.
Ba Dinh District Police said they are detaining Dang Anh Viet (38 years old) and Nguyen Van Binh (56 years old) to clarify the act of robbery. Both suspects have criminal records.
According to the police, Viet and Binh both lived in Giang Vo apartment complex and were both heavily addicted to drugs. To get money for drugs, the two of them covered their faces with masks, carried pepper spray, and rode motorbikes to "hunt".
At noon on October 14, when arriving at a small alley on Kim Ma Street (Ba Dinh District), the two suspects discovered a woman standing in the middle of the street counting a bundle of money. Seeing a good opportunity, Viet rode his motorbike close and let Binh sit behind him to snatch nearly 7 million VND from the victim's hand.
The two then sped away for about 1 km before falling due to losing control of their speed and being restrained by police on the spot.
