Nearly 7 million VND stolen while counting the money in the middle of the street.
Seeing a woman standing on the street counting a wad of money, the two suspects approached and robbed her.
The Ba Dinh District Police announced that they are temporarily detaining Dang Anh Viet (38 years old) and Nguyen Van Binh (56 years old) to investigate their involvement in robbery. Both suspects have prior criminal records.
According to the police, Viet and Binh lived in the Giang Vo apartment complex and were both heavy drug addicts. To get money for their drugs, the two covered their faces with masks, carried pepper spray, and rode a motorbike together to "hunt for victims."
At noon on October 14th, upon reaching a small alley on Kim Ma Street (Ba Dinh District), the two suspects spotted a woman standing in the middle of the street counting a wad of money. Seeing a good opportunity, Viet rode his motorbike close to her so that Binh, sitting behind him, could snatch nearly 7 million dong from the victim's hand.
The two then sped away on their motorbike for about 1 km before crashing due to losing control of their speed and being apprehended by the police on the spot.
