More than 500 Yen Thanh students join in irrigation work
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 21, in Xuan Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, the whole population was mobilized to do irrigation in the fields in 2018, with the participation of over 500 students of Phan Dang Luu High School.
This year, due to the direct impact of storms No. 3 and No. 4, floods have damaged many irrigation and traffic works in Yen Thanh district, affecting production and people's lives.
Launching the 2018 irrigation campaign, from now until December 30, all 39 communes and towns in the district will mobilize people to focus on dredging and clearing the flow of the entire irrigation and drainage canal system.

The district has assigned the target of digging and filling 2 cubic meters of soil per sao, adjusting the banks of the areas and plots, combining with field sanitation to treat the black-striped dwarf disease that harms rice in the fields that were infected in the summer-autumn crop of 2018; mobilizing the entire population to fight rats, locusts, and grasshoppers to protect winter crops.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, cadres and people of 12 hamlets of Xuan Thanh commune and more than 500 grade 10 students of Phan Dang Luu High School went to the fields to dredge canals in the fields, serving the production of the 2019 spring crop and the following crops.
