Appreciating the Saitama Governor for his many visits to Vietnam and his many cooperative activities with Vietnam, the Prime Minister was pleased to see that the Saitama delegation to Vietnam this time included representatives from business associations, banks and many other sectors. This shows that Saitama businesses want to seek investment and business cooperation opportunities in Vietnam.

Thanking the Prime Minister for taking the time to meet him, Governor Kiyoshi Ueda informed the Prime Minister about his meeting with leaders of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, discussing solutions to promote cooperation between the two sides. The Governor expressed his pleasure that Saitama Prefecture has opened a business support office in Hanoi, helping the province's businesses that have, are and will invest in Vietnam.

Governor Kiyoshi Ueda said that Saitama prefecture’s businesses are currently facing difficulties in human resources, so this is an area that can promote cooperation with Vietnam. Businesses in the prefecture also want Vietnamese engineers and researchers to work in their businesses, thereby improving their experience and management skills. This force, when returning to Vietnam, will also promote Japanese businesses in general and Saitama prefecture’s businesses to invest in Vietnam.

Governor Kiyoshi Ueda also said that Saitama is the province with the 5th largest economy out of 47 provinces and cities in Japan, with a GDP of about 190 billion USD/year, and is a large market for trade and investment cooperation with Vietnam.

Agreeing with Governor Kiyoshi Ueda's opinion on promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Saitama province, the Prime Minister said that the province should pay attention to supporting Saitama enterprises to invest in Vietnam in areas where the province has strengths such as the automobile industry, manufacturing industry, medicine and pharmaceuticals.

The Prime Minister said that Vietnam's investment and business environment is currently very favorable and he hopes that Saitama businesses will invest in Vietnam in many fields. The Vietnamese Government is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to invest in Vietnam, including those from Saitama Prefecture.

The Prime Minister also suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in the fields of human resource training, education and training, and suggested that Saitama Prefecture receive more Vietnamese workers to help improve skills, especially in the fields of manufacturing industry, healthcare and many other fields in which Saitama has strengths.

The two sides also need to promote business, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, especially in 2018 when the two countries celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations, thereby contributing to promoting Vietnam-Japan relations.
