The Brazilian striker faces the risk of 6 years in prison, suspected of fraud in the transfer deal to Barcelona in 2013, and is being investigated by law enforcement agencies.

According to Sky Sports, Spanish judge Jose Maria Vazquez Hunrubia is leading an investigation into allegations surrounding Neymar's irregular transfer from Santos to Barcelona. If found guilty, Neymar could face up to six years in prison.

Neymar could face 6 years in prison over alleged fraud in transfer to Barca

Barca signed Neymar from Santos in 2013, and in January 2014, he was investigated when inconsistent and contradictory information emerged.

AFP news agency confirmed that they have a detailed copy of the case's paperwork, signed by judge Hunrubia.

At the time of buying Neymar, Barca announced that they spent 57.1 million euros, with Santos only receiving 17.1 million euros in fees, and the remaining 40 million euros belonging to the striker's parents.

Immediately after the investigation was conducted, Mr. Sandro Rosell resigned as President of Barca, and revealed that the actual transfer fee the Catalan club had to pay was 86.2 million euros.

Neymar has now moved to play for PSG

Neymar, the Brazilian striker's parents, current president Josep Maria Bartomeu and former president Sandro Rosell are said to be involved in fraud allegations and will have to appear in court in the near future, following a complaint by DIS, the unit that owns a part of Neymar's value.

DIS (received 6 million euros) claims that Santos and Barca colluded to hide the true value of the transfer. There is currently no specific date for the hearing related to the case.

After 4 years playing for Barca, Neymar moved to PSG last summer, with a record transfer fee of 222 million euros.
