On November 27, US President Donald Trump said he would likely cancel his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Group of 20 (G20) Summit to be held this weekend in Argentina, due to the recent clash between Russia and Ukraine in the Kerch Strait.

In an interview with The Washington Post, President Trump said he is waiting for a full report on the clash, adding, “That will be determined. I probably won’t have the meeting.”

President Trump's statement was made after Russia seized three Ukrainian naval vessels on charges of "illegally violating Russian territorial waters near the Crimean peninsula" on November 25.
