15 more communes meet new rural standards in Nghe An

On the afternoon of December 26, the Organizing Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction held a meeting to evaluate, appraise and vote to recognize 15 more communes meeting new rural standards in 2018. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired.

15 communes in 9 districts and towns were considered and voted by the Appraisal Council to be recognized as meeting NTM standards this time, including: Dien Hoang (Dien Chau); Ma Thanh, Kim Thanh (Yen Thanh); Hien Son (Do Luong); Quynh Tam (Quynh Luu); Hung Linh, Hung Chau, Hung Khanh (Hung Nguyen); Dong Van, Thanh Khai, Thanh Tuong, Thanh Yen (Thanh Chuong); Quynh Trang (Hoang Mai town); Bong Khe (Con Cuong) and Tam Dinh commune (Tuong Duong).

Of which, 10 communes registered with the province to finish in 2018, 4 communes registered last year, 1 commune did not register to finish in 2018, which is Kim Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

According to the summary report of the Office of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, in 2018, the leadership and direction of new rural construction in the province in general and 15 communes in particular encountered many difficulties.

However, after signing the commitment with the province, the communes have had many good and creative ways of doing things, making strong breakthroughs, mobilizing resources to complete the missing criteria. The localities have achieved positive results; essential infrastructure in terms of transportation, irrigation, culture, health, education, etc. has received investment, upgrading and construction.

15/15 communes were inspected by the Provincial New Rural Area Appraisal Council and all met the standards for reaching the New Rural Area target. According to the report of the People's Committees of the communes, all 15 communes had no outstanding debts in the construction of the New Rural Area.

At the meeting, through voting, members of the Provincial New Rural Area Appraisal Council unanimously recognized the above 15 communes as meeting New Rural Area standards in 2018.

At the meeting, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the districts to focus on directing and guiding the communes to implement the criteria and complete the related documents. Prioritize the allocation of resources, issue mechanisms and policies to help the communes gradually improve the quality of the criteria.

For communes, continue to complete the evidence documents related to the results of building new rural areas of 19/19 criteria. Improve the quality of the achieved criteria in a synchronous, sustainable and comprehensive manner, consider building new rural areas as a regular and continuous task; focus on prioritizing economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. The motto of building new rural areas is "having a starting point, no stopping point".

Thus, in 2018, 37 communes met the NTM standards, bringing the total number of communes meeting the NTM standards in the province to 218 communes.
