Of these, 10 communes registered with the province to achieve the target in 2018, 4 communes registered the previous year, and 1 commune did not register to achieve the target in 2018, which is Kim Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.

According to the summary report of the National Target Program Coordination Office for New Rural Development, in 2018, the leadership and direction of new rural development in the province in general and in the 15 communes in particular faced many difficulties.

However, after signing the commitment with the province, the communes have implemented many good and innovative approaches, making strong breakthroughs and mobilizing resources to complete the remaining criteria. The localities have achieved positive results; essential infrastructure in transportation, irrigation, culture, health, education, etc., has received attention and investment for upgrading and construction.

For communes, continue to complete the supporting documents related to the results of building new rural areas for all 19/19 criteria. Improve the quality of the achieved criteria in a synchronized, sustainable, and comprehensive manner, viewing the construction of new rural areas as a regular and continuous task; focus on prioritizing economic development and improving the material and spiritual lives of the people. The motto of building new rural areas is "there is a starting point, but no end point".

Thus, in 2018, 37 communes achieved the new rural standard, bringing the total number of communes meeting the new rural standard in the province to 218.
