Post Office Bridge is a major traffic point in Vinh City. After the incident, traffic congestion on the bypass roads occurred frequently, causing difficulties for people traveling through here. Authorities often had to be on duty to direct traffic on Phung Chi Kien Street when Le Viet Thuat Street was closed to cars to handle the incident.

After the repair period, the Post Office Bridge was opened to traffic on 1/2 of the roadway on December 28, 2018; on January 7, 2019, the troubleshooting was completed.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thang - Head of Vinh Urban Management Department said: "The construction to overcome subsidence at the Post Office Bridge encountered some obstacles due to the large amount of rocks under the bridge pier, leading to difficulties in driving piles to thoroughly handle the subsidence; the construction units had to clear the rocks, so the completion progress was slower than expected. However, with the efforts of the construction units, the bridge opening before Tet will contribute to helping the city's people travel smoothly to celebrate Tet."
