Nearly 10 hours after the young man's death, his family informed the hospital of their wish to preserve his sperm.

On January 7th, Dr. Nguyen Khac Loi, Director of the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital, stated that on the night of January 5th and the early morning of January 6th, the hospital's doctors raced against time to save sperm for a 28-year-old man who had passed away.

This young man, the only son in his family, tragically passed away at 3 PM on January 5th. Grieving, his family wished to preserve his sperm in the future to find a way to conceive. However, they only contacted the hospital for assistance at 11:30 PM that same day.

Due to the family's late notification, Dr. Ho Van Thang and his colleagues quickly traveled to the Hanoi Forensic Center to perform the sperm retrieval procedure. After two hours, the young man's sperm was carefully extracted, yielding 10 containers.

According to Dr. Loi, it is generally impossible or very difficult to extract sperm from a deceased person after 3 hours. In this case, it was much more difficult because the young man had been dead for nearly 10 hours, and the quality of the sperm had deteriorated over time, making storage even more complicated.

Therefore, successfully retrieving sperm in this rare case can be called a miracle, opening up much hope for other people who have passed away many hours earlier.

Previously, on December 14th, the Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital also performed sperm retrieval for a young man who died in a traffic accident.
