To ensure traffic safety for people to travel smoothly before, during and after Tet, Vinh City Police has developed a plan and assigned forces to ensure traffic safety and urban order in 70 groups in 3 phases, from January 15, 2019 to February 24, 2019 (ie December 10 to January 20, 2019 lunar calendar). Mobilizing nearly 400 officers and soldiers including Traffic Police, Public Order Police, Ward Police, Civil Defense... to strengthen traffic control and regulation, limit prolonged traffic congestion in Vinh City.
At intersections, shopping malls, markets in Vinh City, the Traffic Police and other forces are always present to direct and regulate traffic. At checkpoints, the City Police force is arranged with 4-5 Traffic Police officers, Ward Police officers with 2-3 officers, and Civil Guard officers with 3-5 officers.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duc - Deputy Captain of the Traffic Police Team of Vinh City Police, due to the high number of people during Tet holiday combined with poor awareness of traffic safety laws, traffic jams occur more often than usual. The team has assigned officers to work with a high sense of responsibility. The Traffic Police Team has mobilized its maximum force, especially female traffic police officers who usually work in the handling department, who are now also assigned to traffic regulation duties.
From early morning, Vinh City Police Traffic Police officers were present at points and checkpoints to participate in traffic regulation; especially on key routes of the city where traffic volume often increases, especially during rush hours such as Vinh market intersection, Lenin Avenue roundabout, Provincial Post Office, Kenh Bac Bridge market intersection... In addition, at the side roads intersecting with main roads in the city, Traffic Police officers and Ward Police officers were also deployed.

The peak period during Tet mainly focuses on reducing traffic congestion, the task force mainly regulates traffic, combined with propaganda, reminding people to be aware of traffic participation.
