In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), traffic volume in Vinh City increases dramatically compared to normal days.

To ensure traffic safety and facilitate convenient travel for the public before, during, and after Tet (Lunar New Year), the Vinh City Police Department has developed a plan and assigned forces to ensure traffic safety and urban order in 70 teams across three phases, from January 15, 2019 to February 24, 2019 (corresponding to December 10 to January 20, 2019 in the lunar calendar). Nearly 400 officers and personnel, including traffic police, public order police, ward police, and neighborhood security guards, have been mobilized to strengthen traffic control and regulation, minimizing prolonged traffic congestion in Vinh City.

At intersections, shopping centers, and markets throughout Vinh City, traffic police and other forces are always present to manage and regulate traffic flow. At each checkpoint, the city police force is deployed with 4-5 traffic police officers, 2-3 ward police officers, and 3-5 neighborhood security guards.

Police officers from the ward have been mobilized to reinforce traffic safety at intersections throughout Vinh City.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duc, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Team of Vinh City Police, the increased number of people during Tet (Lunar New Year) combined with poor awareness of traffic safety laws has led to more traffic congestion than usual. The team has assigned officers to work with a high sense of responsibility. The Traffic Police team has mobilized maximum resources, especially female officers who usually work in the enforcement department and are now assigned to traffic control duties.

From early morning, traffic police officers from Vinh City Police Department were present at various points and checkpoints to regulate traffic; especially on key routes in the city where traffic volume is frequently high, particularly during peak hours, such as: Vinh Market intersection, Lenin Boulevard roundabout, Provincial Post Office, Cau Kenh Bac Market intersection... In addition, traffic police and ward police officers were also stationed at secondary roads intersecting with main roads in the city.

Remind and penalize cases of traffic safety violations.

During the peak period of the Lunar New Year, the focus was primarily on reducing traffic congestion. The task force mainly regulated traffic, combined with raising awareness and reminding people about traffic safety. For cases of deliberate violations or resistance to the task force, strict action would be taken. This activity received the approval and support of the city's residents.

This year, with the extended Tet holiday, the Traffic Police force of Vinh City Police will continue to maintain a presence to ensure traffic safety before, during, and after Tet, guaranteeing smooth traffic flow to serve the travel needs of the people during this holiday.
