V.League 2019 promises to be exciting thanks to VAR technology, increasing the number of foreign players
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 2, 2019, after being approved by the Vietnam Football Federation, the V.League 2019 Organizing Committee (VPF) decided to issue the 2019 National Championship Regulations. Vietnam's top tournament will officially kick off on February 3.
Number of foreign soldiers increased
Accordingly, each team is allowed to register a maximum of 30 players, of which at least 20 players have professional contracts, a maximum of 3 foreign players, and a maximum of 1 Vietnamese player of foreign origin (naturalized player).
Only Hanoi and B. Binh Duong are teams participating in the continental arena (AFC) and are allowed to register a maximum of 4 foreign players, including at least 1 Asian player (including Australia). The latest registration deadline is February 8, and the latest foreign player addition deadline is March 4, 2019.

The winning team received a prize of 3 billion VND.
According to the regulations, the champion team will receive the Championship Cup and 3 billion VND, the second-place team will receive 1.5 billion VND and the third-place team will receive 750 million VND. In addition, the team that wins the style award will receive 200 million VND. The fan club with many active activities will receive 20 million VND.
VAR (video assistant referee) will be applied
The unit that helped VPF introduce VAR technology is EVS Company, specializing in installing VAR systems, headquartered in Belgium and with offices in many countries around the world. EVS is the partner that deployed VAR technology at the 2018 World Cup held in Russia recently. In addition, EVS has deployed VAR in many Leagues around the world. In Southeast Asia, EVS is deploying VAR for the Thai League and it is expected that the Thai League will be able to apply VAR from the 2019 season.
Mr. Tran Anh Tu shared: "The purpose of VPF when bringing VAR to Vietnam is to support the referees, to gradually limit controversial situations, bring accurate results to the matches, thereby improving the image and quality of the highest club tournament in Vietnam".
Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company also officially issued 2 options for the 2019 National Championship Match Schedule (first leg). VPF Company will announce the application of Option 1 or Option 2 depending on the results of Hanoi Club after the play-off matches at the AFC Champions League on February 12 and 19, 2019.

According to the updated results, the draw has brought Song Lam Nghe An to meet Quang Nam in the opening match of the season at Vinh Stadium. This year's tournament, the matches and teams have been provided with new match balls provided by Dong Luc.
