(Baonghean.vn) - At the Cờn Temple festival, visitors can experience many impressive activities characteristic of the coastal countryside. However, the festival still has some unpleasant images, especially the "looting of offerings" during the Fishing Prayer Ceremony.

The Fishing Prayer Ceremony during the Cờn Temple Festival, held on Quỳnh Phương beach, attracted a large number of locals and tourists from all over. The entire 500-meter stretch of beach, from the ceremony site to the foot of the mountain where the Cờn Ngoài temple is located, was packed with people.
To ensure the smooth running of the Fishing Festival, this year the organizers erected a steel fence around the ceremony area, with the presence of many police officers. In the photo: People watching the Fishing Festival and waiting to "scramble for blessings".
As soon as the ceremonial address ended and the organizers were preparing to distribute blessings to the people, those attending the ceremony in the inner circle took advantage of the situation to "grab the blessings".
Immediately, thousands of people from all directions rushed towards the offering table, each grabbing whatever they could, with some offerings such as sticky rice, cakes, and fruits being thrown high into the air.
A chaotic atmosphere of pushing, shoving, and trampling as people scrambled to "grab blessings" and "collect offerings" unfolded right where, just minutes before, the sacred site of the religious ceremony had been located.
Some people "received their share" right at the scene.
The solemn offering table suddenly became a place of trampling and抢夺 (scrambling) among those attending the ceremony. Ms. Le Thi Can from Quyet Tien block, Quynh Phuong ward, said: "This scene happens every year at the fishing prayer ceremony."
Paper offerings during the fishing festival are thrown high into the air, flying everywhere. Many tourists attending the festival said they felt "horrified" when scenes of "scramble for offerings" occurred.
Some people tried to pick up the damaged items trampled on the offerings. Mr. Phan Hong Vinh, Vice Chairman of Quynh Phuong Ward, Hoang Mai Town, shared: "The custom of 'snatching offerings' during the Fishing Festival at Corn Temple has existed for a long time. Recognizing its offensive nature, this year the organizing committee erected about 100 meters of steel fence around the fishing area, intending to distribute offerings to the people in a civilized manner after the ceremony, but before they could do anything, the 'snatching offerings' happened again as before."
