Authorities dismantled a large-scale gambling den outside the dike, arresting 42 suspects.
During a raid on a farm outside the dike, police discovered 42 individuals gambling and seized nearly 400 million VND. Many attempted to escape by jumping into the river but were unsuccessful.
On March 25th, the Criminal Police Department of Hung Yen Provincial Police, in coordination with the Provincial Mobile Police Department and the Khoai Chau District Police, unexpectedly raided a gambling den in Khoai Chau District on the largest scale in many years, arresting 42 individuals and seizing a total of 368,400,000 VND.
According to initial information, at approximately 2 PM on March 22, 2019, police forces unexpectedly raided a gambling den located on a farm outside the dike, far from residential areas, in Xuan Dinh village (Ham Tu commune, Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province).

Here, the police discovered and caught 42 individuals red-handed gambling with money behind the farm, using the dice-shaking method.
Caught off guard by the police raid, the suspects jumped into the river in an attempt to escape. However, all of them were apprehended by the Hung Yen Provincial Police.
During the on-site and personal searches of the suspects, the police seized a total of 368,400,000 VND in cash along with all related evidence.

This is a gambling ring with extremely sophisticated methods. The participants are mostly professional gamblers, many of whom have prior gambling records. Several of the pawnshop operators show signs of engaging in illegal lending activities.
This group operates nearly 20 gambling locations, moving from place to place across Khoai Chau, Kim Dong, and Van Giang districts. They frequently change locations to evade police surveillance.
Currently, the Hung Yen Provincial Police are holding the suspects in custody, intensifying the investigation to clarify the roles of the suspects and expanding the case.
