Ho Chi Minh City elects a new Chairwoman of the City People's Council to replace Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam.
The delegates of the 9th term of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will elect a new Chairwoman to replace Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam at an extraordinary session this afternoon.

According to the plan, the 13th session will only take place in the afternoon, with the agenda including discussions and approval of several proposals from the City People's Committee, and voting on personnel matters of the city.
Specifically, the session will discuss and vote on the personnel of the City People's Council and the City People's Committee for the 2016-2020 term, dismiss Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, former Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairwoman of the City People's Council, from her leadership position in the City People's Council; dismiss Ms. Truong Thi Anh (who recently retired) from her position as Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council; and dismiss Mr. Huynh Cach Mang (who has recently been assigned to the position of Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Organization Department) from his position as Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.
In particular, the delegates will elect a new Chairman of the City People's Council.
