Ukrainian general calls for the creation of missiles capable of "reaching the Urals."
Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Igor Romanenko, stated that to counter Russia, Kyiv needs missiles "capable of reaching at least the Ural region."

The general expressed his opinion in an interview with the Ukrainian newspaper "Glavred".
After signing the Budapest Memorandum, Ukraine was deprived not only of nuclear weapons, but also of missile weapons, Romanenko complained. “We are left with only the old Tochka-U missiles with a range of 120 km. And now we are suffering the consequences of this approach,” he noted.
Currently, tests of similar weapons "are making progress," but Kyiv still faces limitations related to the missile's range," the general said.
"Ukraine needs missiles that can at least reach the Urals and cover the entire territory of the Russian Federation. Such missiles could be considered a deterrent," Romanenko concluded.
Last week, Ukrainian President Piotr Poroshenko stated that Kyiv possesses cruise missiles with a destructive radius of over 1,000 km. According to military expert Alexei Podberezkin, these "new" missiles threaten Ukraine more than anyone else.
