Russian Foreign Ministry considers US avoidance of dialogue on nuclear disarmament a mistake
The United States made a big mistake by not negotiating with Russia on nuclear disarmament, Vladimir Yermakov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control, told Sputnik.

“We believe that Washington made a serious mistake by rejecting bilateral dialogue between Russia and the United States on the entire strategic agenda,” Yermakov said.
"This only exacerbates existing problems and adds to the obstacles to nuclear disarmament," he said.
The diplomat explained that “merely transferring these issues mechanically into a multilateral format will hardly promote the finding of solutions.”
“Our dialogue with the United States and multilateral action should be conducted in parallel and complement each other,” Mr. Yermakov added.
