These days, on the Giang River flowing through Thanh Nho, Thanh Hoa, Phong Thinh communes (Thanh Chuong), there are many people coming down to catch mussels, each river wharf has about a few dozen people. |

The people who go to catch mussels here are mainly women. Ms. Tran Thi Tinh (33 years old) in Hamlet 3, Thanh Nho Commune said: Every year, when the weather is hot and the Giang River is dry, people in the surrounding area often go to the river to catch mussels to improve their meals. |

When catching mussels, people often use ladles to rake the mixture (gravel, stone, sand, mussels) into a basin or basket (some people even just use their hands) then sift in water, then select and pick each mussel. |
