Chom Lom suspension bridge was built from a tragic ferry sinking that shocked the whole country in 2006. HoweverAfter storm No. 4 in 2018, water from upstream poured down, forcing hydroelectric plants along Lam River to simultaneously discharge floodwaters at a large volume, causing the Chom Lom (Con Cuong) bridge pier on the right bank, south, to break, with a 7m long crack, causing travel and traffic to stagnate.
