Man restrains girlfriend, shoots and injures police officer
While restraining his girlfriend and barricading himself in the house, Dung also shot the police officer who came to rescue the hostage.
At around 1:30 p.m. on July 29, Nguyen Tuan Dung (40 years old), while high on crystal meth, held a knife and an air gun to control his girlfriend (47 years old) and barricaded himself on the second floor of a house on Linh Nam Street, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi.

When the police arrived to persuade him, Dung shot himself in the arm, injuring an officer. Police 113 were then dispatched to cordon off the scene.
At 3 p.m., authorities subdued Dung and rescued the hostages safely. Police seized an air gun that fired lead bullets and two knives at the scene.
Dung is being detained at Hoang Mai District Police.
