(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Committee of Nghe An province stated that any unit or locality that lacks attention to direction or implementation, has limited results, and allows the situation of firecracker violations in the area to become complicated must be responsible before the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

By issuing the plan early, the Provincial People's Committee also hopes to promptly detect and correct loopholes and shortcomings in State management of weapons, explosives and fireworks.
“Provincial departments, branches, sectors, and organizations; district, city, and town People's Committees must identify the work of preventing violations related to fireworks as a regular and continuous task... Strive to minimize illegal fireworks activities on New Year's Eve,” the document stated.
The implementation period of the plan is from August 5, 2019 to February 15, 2020, divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 from August 5, 2019 to January 5, 2020; Phase 2 from January 6, 2020 to February 15, 2020.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned targets to 21 districts, cities, towns and 4 sectors including the Provincial Police, Border Guard Command, Customs Department, and Market Management Department to investigate and arrest 394 cases related to fireworks.
"Any unit or locality that lacks attention to direction or does not seriously direct implementation, with limited results, allowing violations of firecrackers in the area or management field to become complicated (there are many injuries caused by firecrackers, firecracker explosions, especially on New Year's Eve), the collective and individual head of that unit or locality must be responsible before the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee," the document stated.
It is known that during the peak period of firecracker prevention lasting more than 3 months before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2019, Nghe An Police discovered and arrested 700 cases, 824 subjects illegally producing, trading, transporting, storing and using firecrackers, and confiscated 7.3 tons of various types of firecrackers.
"The amount of fireworks seized by Nghe An accounts for 36.5% of the total seized nationwide during this peak period (20 tons were seized nationwide)," said the provincial police leader.
