An individual from Nghe An province was involved in a football betting ring worth over 22 billion VND.
Five suspects involved in a football betting ring worth over 22 billion VND, including one residing in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh City (Nghe An province), have been charged and taken into temporary custody.
On the morning of August 24th, leaders of the Dak Nong Provincial Police announced that investigators had just dismantled a football betting ring involving tens of billions of VND.
The investigating agency has decided to initiate criminal proceedings, indict the suspects, and issue a temporary detention order against Le Quyet Thang (30 years old, residing in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh City, Nghe An); Dang Thai Son (31 years old), Hoang The Manh, Pham Thanh Thao (35 years old), and Ngo Van Duy (31 years old, all residing in Dak Mil district) for gambling offenses.

Previously, on August 16th, investigators from the Dak Nong Provincial Police arrested Le Quyet Thang and Pham Thanh Thao while they were exchanging money related to football betting.
The police seized 25 million VND, 4 mobile phones, and 1 car.
During the investigation, Thang confessed to using the main account K3KB800, then asking Dang Thai Son to divide it into 10 sub-accounts to give to gamblers. Among these, Thang gave the K3KB80000C account to Ngo Van Duy, who lost 700 million VND.
The total number of points used by the sub-accounts managed by Le Quyet Thang for gambling was 397,444 points, equivalent to nearly 20 billion VND.
Expanding the investigation, the Dak Nong Provincial Police also arrested Hoang The Manh. According to the investigation, since the beginning of 2019, Manh used the main account FQ290101 and divided it into account FQ290101001 for Pham Thanh Thao and account FQ290101003 for Ngo Van Duy to gamble.
The total number of points used by the accounts managed by Hoang The Manh for gambling was 75,979 points, equivalent to over 2.6 billion VND.
