Couple in Nghe An arranged to buy and sell drugs for customers from Hai Phong
(Baonghean.vn) - To have drugs to sell, Nhung took a bus to the mountainous district of Que Phong to buy "goods". The woman, who had a criminal record for "Prostitution", calculated that she would pocket 80 million VND if this business deal went through. In this case, Hoi was considered Nhung's right-hand man.
On September 23, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of defendants Lu Van Hoi (born 1990) and Lo Thi Nhung (born 1983), both residing in Chau Phong commune, Quy Chau district, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
Around the end of February 2019, a man called Lu Van Hoi to get acquainted, introducing himself as Dung (Hai Phong City). Five days later, Dung called Hoi and asked: "Is there anyone in Nghe An selling drugs, do you need to buy them?" Hoi replied that he did not know, but "if you go in, I will take you there."

In early March, Dung went to Nghe An and Hoi arranged to meet him at Ban village, Chau Phong commune. At the meeting place, Hoi took Dung to Lo Thi Nhung's house. At Nhung's house, Dung asked to buy 1 kg of crystal meth and 4 packets of pink phien for 180 million VND. Hoi and Nhung agreed.
On April 3, Nhung took 100 million VND on a bus to Que Phong district, where she met a Mong man who wanted to buy drugs. This man offered 160 million VND for 1 kg of crystal meth and 4 packets of pink phien. Nhung bargained down to 100 million VND and the man agreed.
After purchasing the drugs, Nhung informed Hoi that she had the “goods” and promised to pay 20 million VND for the work. Hoi called Dung to arrange a place and time to deliver the drugs.
At around 7:00 p.m. on April 5, after determining that Hoi was standing at the crossroads of a trail in Dong Hieu Commune, Thai Hoa Town, Nhung took the drugs to the meeting point and delivered the goods to Hoi. When the two walked about 50 meters, they were caught red-handed by Thai Hoa Town Police, who seized 1,114.44 grams of Methamphetamine.
In court, both admitted to the crime. Regarding the money used to buy drugs, Nhung said she had saved up.
It is known that in 2012, Lo Thi Nhung was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison by the People's Court of An Duong district, Hai Phong city for the crime of "Prostitution".
Considering the case as a whole, the People's Court sentenced Lo Thi Nhung to life in prison and sentenced Lu Van Hoi to 20 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking".
