Nearly 1,000 new students at Vinh Medical University begin the new academic year.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2019-2020 academic year, Vinh Medical University continued to improve the quality of training, focusing on innovation, implementing advanced management models, and prioritizing the development of faculty, facilities, and equipment; aiming for accreditation according to national and regional standards.
On the morning of October 5th, Vinh Medical University held its opening ceremony for the 2019-2020 academic year. Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Canh Phu - Rector of Vinh Medical University, congratulated and welcomed nearly 1,000 new students who have been admitted to the university in 9 training majors across various systems... On this initial foundation, the university hopes that the new students will quickly adapt to the university education environment; cultivate knowledge, be dynamic in their studies and enthusiastically participate in the youth union and student association movements of the university.

With the 2018-2019 academic year concluded, Vinh Medical University has completed its tasks, with the main objectives being: focusing on innovation and implementing advanced management models, promoting autonomy, emphasizing the development of faculty and postgraduate training, and improving the quality and effectiveness of all aspects of its operations...
Scientific research is one of the key tasks that receives constant attention. During the past academic year, the school had 2 provincial-level research projects and 4 provincial-level initiatives; 23 institutional-level projects were evaluated and approved; and hundreds of articles were published in domestic and international specialized journals... This result affirms the school's continuously improving training quality and serves as motivation for the school's staff to strive and make further efforts in the future.
"In the 2019-2020 academic year, the School will focus all resources on improving the quality of training, innovating in curriculum content and teaching methods; applying science and technology in training. At the same time, it will promote scientific research and technology transfer, strengthen international cooperation; improve the quality of staff and lecturers and the evaluation of staff; and launch a competitive emulation movement to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the School of Medicine and the 10th anniversary of Vinh University of Medicine..."

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa praised the achievements of the collective of teachers, staff, and officials of Vinh Medical University in the past period, especially in student recruitment, scientific research, and the performance of professional tasks.

Looking ahead, the comrade suggested that the university should focus all resources on improving the quality of training, teaching methods, and management; expanding cooperation and linkages with hospitals and medical facilities inside and outside the province; and promptly finalize and issue the development strategy for Vinh Medical University for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030. In particular, the university should focus on developing into a center for medical training, scientific research, technology transfer, and medical examination and treatment.
Furthermore, the school needs to promote research and application of scientific and technological achievements, especially in diagnostic and treatment techniques and healthcare in medicine and pharmacy, linking research with medical examination and treatment at Vinh University Medical Center Hospital... At the same time, it should focus on educating students about medical ethics, skills, and a sense of responsibility towards the community, patients, the school, and society.
