Vinh City is replacing a series of trees along Nguyen Van Cu pedestrian street.
(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City is currently cutting down old trees on both sides of Nguyen Van Cu Street and will replace them with new trees to create uniformity and prepare for the upcoming opening of a pedestrian street.
In recent days, along Nguyen Van Cu street (Vinh City), workers have been cutting down and digging up numerous trees, causing concern among residents because many of these large trees have provided shade for many years.

Nguyen Van Cu Street will be one of the key streets in the upcoming Vinh City pedestrian zone. However, the current situation on this street is that there are quite a variety of different types of trees, planted haphazardly and not in straight lines.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Tu, Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, said that the city is beautifying Vinh to be green, clean, beautiful, and civilized, and the tree replacement has already been completed on Le Nin Street. The tree replacement on Nguyen Van Cu Street aims to create uniformity in the landscape, and the city has chosen to plant sandalwood trees along this road.

According to the plan, the city will remove a number of trees not included in the Vinh City Greenery System Planning Project, Nghe An province, until 2025, including: 26 Terminalia catappa trees, 4 Paulownia trees, 26 Aquilaria trees, 2 coconut trees, 1 sapodilla tree, 1 fig tree, 3 Ficus trees, and 3 Cassia trees.
Besides clearing out trees not included in the plan, the city will also move 100 mango and flamboyant trees to the Tien River embankment and transfer the remaining trees to a nursery for care, to be used as a source for replanting trees along other roads in the future.
