Announcing the Hoang Muoi Temple Festival as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Hoang Muoi Temple Festival is held annually to preserve, protect, and promote the cultural values of the nation, to express the tradition of remembering one's roots, and to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people and visitors from all over.
On the morning of November 6th (corresponding to the 10th day of the 10th lunar month), Hung Nguyen district solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Hoang Muoi Temple Festival 2019 and announced its designation as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nong Quoc Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Heritage - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives from provincial departments, agencies, and districts inside and outside the province.

In the solemn atmosphere of the opening ceremony of the 2019 Hoang Muoi Temple Festival, the Organizing Committee announced Decision No. 2970/QD-BVHTTDL signed on August 27, 2019, by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and awarded the Certificate recognizing the Hoang Muoi Temple Festival in Hung Thinh commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Hoang Muoi Temple, located in Xuan Am hamlet, Hung Thinh commune, was built during the late Le Dynasty (17th century). The temple sits on land shaped like a crane's beak next to the Moc River, hence its other name, "Crane's Beak Sacred Temple".
The temple is dedicated to benevolent deities in the Vietnamese Four Palaces Mother Goddess worship tradition, with the main figure being Ông Hoàng Mười. In addition, the temple also worships other benevolent deities such as Phúc Quận công Trịnh Trung, Đặc tiến phụ quốc Thượng tướng quân Nguyễn Duy Lạc, Song đồng Ngọc nữ...

Hoang Muoi Temple has been recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic. The temple still preserves 21 royal decrees granted by various Vietnamese feudal dynasties.

This year's Hoang Muoi Temple Festival will be held over two days, November 5th and 6th (corresponding to the 9th and 10th of the 10th lunar month of the Year of the Pig), with traditional rituals including the opening ceremony, announcement ceremony, procession, grand sacrifice, and thanksgiving ceremony. The festival part will be lively and rich in regional cultural identity with sports competitions, folk games (boat racing, tug-of-war, cockfighting), and the release of floating lanterns…
