Recently, news of the bankruptcy of XH Garment Co., Ltd. (Binh Duong province), leaving hundreds of workers without salaries or Tet bonuses, has caused widespread concern. On the morning of January 15th, singer Thuy Tien launched a fundraising campaign on her official fanpage.

Soon after, the post received tens of thousands of likes, shares, and comments. A flood of support poured in for the singer and her husband. The amount gradually reached hundreds of millions of dong. The singer updated all information and the amount of donations in her posts.

On the evening of January 17th, Thuy Tien happily posted: "Oh my God, I'm crying... We've raised enough money, everyone! I didn't think we'd be able to raise it in time, in just two and a half days, almost three days."

Yesterday, Tien was so worried she couldn't sleep, thinking that if there wasn't enough money to buy tickets for everyone and they were disappointed, she would feel incredibly guilty. Most of the messages were transfers of 50k, 100k, 200k, but each of us contributed a little bit and it became a real storm. Almost a billion VND! That means everyone will have money for their bus fare home and a few extra gifts like clothes for their children."

At the same time, the singer also announced that she would stop accepting donations. Any money received afterward will be used for those in more difficult circumstances.

On January 19th, as announced, singer Thuy Tien and her husband Cong Vinh visited the garment factory to hand over nearly 1 billion VND in support to the workers. This included 200 million VND from the couple themselves, with the remainder coming from the community.

"Each worker on the registration list receives 2.5 million VND, but in reality, when I see someone who is struggling and in a difficult situation, I give them an additional 500,000 to 1 million VND."

Some workers weren't on the registration list, so Tien asked the head of human resources to double-check the company's payroll records to avoid missing anyone who needed help. Some people were at the very end of the list and couldn't find any outstanding paychecks, but since they had their cards, Tien decided to give them 500,000 VND to help them celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year). For those living further away in the North or Central regions, she gave them 1 million to 1.5 million VND.

"I think they must be struggling and in need to wait 4-5 hours hoping to get some money, so I couldn't bear to leave them out just because they weren't on the list. I decided to give them some money so they could have a little joy at the end of the year, so I hope everyone understands and sympathizes," Thuy Tien said.

The charitable actions of the singer and her husband received enthusiastic support from netizens. A user named Nguyen Hanh commented emotionally: “Oh my God, when I heard the news that the workers didn't receive their salaries or Tet bonuses, I wanted to cry… So much hard work, so much saving, every penny they put in to make a living, to bring home for Tet with their families, and yet… Luckily, the singer and her husband helped. I'm so happy I could cry.”

James Huynh's account also commented: "Such compassion. May God bless the family and all the benefactors." Many other accounts also commented on the posts, announcing the amount of money they had donated. After seeing the money delivered to the workers, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and wished the workers a peaceful Tet holiday with their families.
