Prime Minister: Strengthen measures to ensure a joyful and healthy Lunar New Year
The Government Office has just announced the conclusion of the Government Standing Committee on preparations for the Lunar New Year 2020.

As the Lunar New Year is approaching, the Prime Minister requested ministries, agencies and localities to focus on directing, thoroughly grasping and seriously and in-depth implementing the tasks assigned in Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated December 10, 2019 of the Secretariat on organizing the 2020 Lunar New Year, Directive No. 33/CT-TTg dated December 10, 2019 of the Prime Minister on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Lunar New Year 2020. Strengthen inspection and control of preparations for the Lunar New Year.
The Ministry of Finance proactively inspects and grasps the implementation of price management and stabilization work during the Lunar New Year 2020. Directs units to arrange sufficient financial resources to promptly handle and resolve all requests from businesses related to payment and capital disbursement before the Lunar New Year.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development closely monitors weather developments, proactively develops plans to prevent and combat natural disasters and epidemics for crops and livestock, and ensures stable production; develops specific plans to prevent drought, water shortages, and saltwater intrusion; has appropriate plans to restore pig herds, especially to avoid a shortage of pork after Tet, causing price increases and affecting people's lives.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade closely monitors developments in the market of goods and services; coordinates with the Ministry of Finance in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; and maintains market stability during, before and after the Lunar New Year.
The Prime Minister requested the State Bank of Vietnam to closely monitor the situation and continue to have proactive, flexible and effective monetary policy solutions. Direct credit institutions to ensure the provision of electronic payment services and card payments on the ATM/POS system in a stable, safe and effective manner, meeting the high payment demand at the end of the year.
No one is left without time to return home for Tet.
The Ministry of Transport shall coordinate with agencies, units and localities to strengthen inspection and control of transport business activities; ensure convenience in travel, not let any people stay at the wharf or bus station and not be able to return home in time for Tet; strictly handle violations, ensure traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will strengthen inspection and examination of the organization of cultural, sports and tourism activities, especially controlling festival activities after Tet; detect and strictly handle negative behaviors.
The Ministry of Health strengthens disease prevention and control, especially the acute pneumonia epidemic caused by the Corona virus; organizes food safety inspections and checks, ensuring safety for consumers before, during and after Tet.
The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs shall coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to proactively grasp the situation of salary and bonus payments of units and enterprises, not allowing the situation of unpaid salary and bonus to affect people's lives during the Lunar New Year; have appropriate plans to attract workers after the Tet holiday, especially in industrial parks, not allowing the situation of job abandonment, labor shortage, and disruption of production and business activities.
The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security continue to monitor the situation, proactively take measures to handle situations, prevent all plots, tricks and sabotage activities of hostile and reactionary forces, avoid being passive or surprised; ensure political security and social order and safety.
